The Mar Menor & the Mediterranean

Calblanque & the Landscape

Declared natural park in 1987, Calblanque is one of the best preserved areas in the Mediterranean littoral. Recently we have detected logger head turtles nesting in its virgin, unspoiled, golden sand beaches. With over 26km of coast, this region combines long, fine sand beaches with beautiful, small coves with a very rocky and interesting landscape. Not only beach but also nice walks through different hills which will delight hickers and climbers.

Marine Reserve

“Islas Hormigas” marine reserve has been protected since 1995 and is one of the best dive sites from Spain and from Europe. Divers from all around the world come to dive in this marine park and enjoy the explosion of marine life at its best; giant groupers, huge schools of barracudas, big amber jacks, octopus, moray eels, eagle rays, sunfish and turtles are some of the examples of the creatures that you will see.

If this not enough, a variety of historical wrecks caves and little coves will complete this amazing diving area. A must for all the lovers of the underwater world.

With over 300 days of sun and the clima smoothed by the nearness of the ocean, this is the land of the “ever holidays”. Even trough the winter, temperatures don’t usually go below the 12 degrees, rising up to the 35 degrees in the summer.
